From a prospective renter's perspective, this firm could not be less helpful or friendly. Each ad makes the prospective tenant dig for non-existent information in an ad or on the website. Pictures misleading. The receptionist Carol is rude and indeed insolent after being asked basic questions. One is 'ordered' in the ads to see the property first then call. I tried this and received no return call! If this is the tone Kathleen sets, she is not a good leader, listener or businesswoman. it is forbidden to be from out of town. As CEO of three companies and a landlord for 20 years and owner of four homes, I would not do businesss with her on principle at this point. 'Nasty or go away; you are taking too much of our time' is the feel I get from every marketing piece, the website, receptionist, phone voice mail, and ads on Craigslist. If you are a property owner and depending on Portola to find you a tenant, you are missing a lot. You missed me. I worked directly with a wonderful owner. If you are a HOA, of which I have been president of two, I would walk not run because my sense is that unit owners/home owners will be really rudely dealt with, albeit the Board may feel attention. That's also called sucking up. The words please and thank you just don't exist in Portola owner's vocabulary. Nor does, "how may I help you?"
